  1. JUST Finished making my moisturizing cream, boy was that easy. Smells great with a capital G. Can’t wait to share this with my friends.
    Gerlinde

    • That’s great, Gerlinde. Yeah, that scent really lifts your mood doesn’t it. I love the way it feels on my skin.

  2. I just watched the video and wrote down the ingredients. Going to the store to get my bees wax. I will let you know how it turns out. I made the cleanser and really love it. Can’t wait to try the lotion.

  3. I’m excited to try this recipe. I am a 45 yr old African American woman with dry skin. I’d like to experiment a bit with natural home recipes. What is the shelf life once the cream is made?

  4. Hello elgielene, firts of all I want tell: thank you for answering my question, you are very good person…please tell me when everything finished how many gram is this cream finaly? and please tell my I have an oily skin and grape seed oil is it good for me ? thank you…

  5. Hi Elgielene,
I was wondering if i could use room temperature distilled water? If not, can the water be heated in the microwave?
    Thank You,
    Mary

    • Hi Mary. I recommend heating the water to body temperature. If you can do that in a microwave, no problem. But
following the instructions like I said in the video has always worked the best for me. Let me know if and
when you give it a try. All the best, Elgielene

  6. I have just finished making your Moisturizing Facial Cream I worked out the quantities to make up smaller batches. I managed to make a 200ml pot.

The cream turned out lovely too I used jojoba oil, and half and half of coconut oil and Shea butter, bees wax, and Lavender oil, Rosemary oil, and Camomile oil.

Many thanks for showing us how to make up this lovely cream, I will be making it all the time now.

I am allergic to isothiazolinone, chloromethylisothiazolinone, methylisothiazolinone or benzisothiazolinone so this is great for me to be able to make up my own cream

    Best wishes Sue

    • Hi Elaina. You could try Shea butter. Let me know if that works for you. Elgielene P.S. Remember to check possible alternatives in the book by Dina Falconi.

  7. Hi Elgielene! I made this cream -did everything as you sad in video. Cream is really nice but I got one problem-water is separate from cream!!! Can you tell me please what I did wrong???

    • Hi Naia. I’m so glad you’re trying it out for yourself. You didn’t necessarily do anything wrong. A little separation is normal. You can just stir the cream, and it usually blends together again. That being said, some things to check could be:

      * make sure you use distilled water
      * be sure you blend it together for the full time
      * double check ingredient totals
      * quality of oil you’re blending
      * storage temperature

    • Hi Mary. Yes…it really gives the ingredients the full emulsifying treatment. They’ll be completely blended together. I’m so glad you’re trying the recipe. Let me know how it’s working for you. By the way…be sure and check out my new videos and audio podcasts at HoorayCafe.com

  8. Great video, looks very easy to do. Could I use another type of solid oil instead of coconut oil?
I haven’t been able to find a substitute and can’t use coconut oil because it cause me a lot of breakouts. Thank you.

    • Hi Carol,
Sorry it took so long for me to answer, but I’m back. Here are the oils you can use with this, and I hope one of them works for you.
olive oil for normal to dry skin
coconut oil for normal to dry skin
      canola oil for normal skin
grape seed oil for normal to oily skin
jojoba for most skin types…especially for dry, damaged, mature
      almond oil for normal skin

      To your success…Elgielene

  9. Hi, I’ve just made the cream, and it smells amazing, however, it is too oily for my skin, it doesn’t seem to absorb it. My face is dry normally, so I’m happy it’s very moisturising, however, I couldn’t use it during the day as it leaves my face oily. I’m not sure how to help this, I’m new to home made products but very happy to fiddle with it, I just thought before wasting my raw materials, I’d ask for advice 🙂 Would adding more water help maybe? Many thanks!

    • Hi Edus. Did you check out the 6 different types of oils for different skin types. If you’ve tried all 6 and your skin is till too oily, then I suggest buying the book and seeing what else might work for you. Just in case you didn’t see the oil types, they are:
olive oil for normal to dry skin
coconut oil for normal to dry skin
      canola oil for normal skin
grape seed oil for normal to oily skin
jojoba for most skin types…especially for dry, damaged, mature
      almond oil for normal skin

      To your success…Elgielene

  10. I made the cream again and this time I did beat iy for 15 minutes and i see a big difference. The first one I made was very greasy and the second one was not. So glad I followed the full instructions. Thank you for the video.

  11. hi there! ive bought all of the ingredients, and just mixed it well, but it did not work 🙁 i used all of the ingredients except bee wax, instead of bee wax i used shea butter. And also i did not use destilled water. i dont understand why my ingredients arent creamy after mixing it 🙁 please help me! p.s i love ur videos :)))

    • Hi Manar…sorry your facial cream didn’t work using shea butter. I recommend substituting the shea with either cocoa butter or putting the bees wax back in the recipe. Those are necessary emulsifiers that give the cream its thicker consistency. Distilled water is used because it’s free of the impurities found in tap water. If you don’t have access to distilled water, at least use purified water that has filtered out the chlorine, etc.

Also, after you make a batch, refrigerate it for a few hours and see if it thickens up to a consistency you like. If you find the butters don’t work and you’d still rather not use bees wax, you might find that yours will be a lotion you can use instead of a cream. The main thing is, you’ll still be using a personal care product that uses only ingredients you can easily recognize and control…a much healthier alternative.
Thanks for watching…and I’ll have some more videos this week where I talk about some great real foods for skin and hair.

  12. Is emulsifying wax or bees wax bad for people to absorb into their body? I have just read some reports regarding them and thye don’t give a good report– especiality the emulsifying wax. I love your video and have been making the moisturizing cream and they turn out great. Is ther some way to make the cream a little less greasy. Thanks . Judy Lyn

    • Hi Judy. I always recommend doing your due diligence. Anyone who has doubts as to whether or not their body can handle certain ingredients, should be sure to err on the side of caution. I’ve never personally had a problem with these ingredients. And I’ve enjoyed the benefits a lot. I’m glad you’ve tried it and enjoyed it too. For less greasy, try another main oil. Your skin will tell you what works best. All the best to you, Elgielene

  13. Elgielene hi…this is very strange but … I was named same as you… can you message me [email protected] I happened across this as a silly Google from a meme about odd names means and was curious… and then I find someone else named this.
